Istanbul Toy Museum was founded on April 23, 2005 by Belgin Akın and poet/writer Sunay Akın. The museum, where the most favorite examples of toy history from the 1700s to the present day are exhibited, is located in a historical mansion. Founded with toys that Sunay Akın purchased from antique shops and auctions in more than 40 countries over 20 years, the Istanbul Toy Museum presents world history to visitors in a more entertaining and memorable learning method. The Istanbul Toy Museum, which many children in Istanbul look at with admiration and almost every adult says "oh, I had this toy too!", was inspired by an old family mansion.
